How much does a media buyer cost in Egypt & the Gulf?
A media buyer's cost is usually a fixed monthly fee + a percentage of sales. Mine in Egypt: a fixed EGP 15,000–30,000/month (≈ $300–600) + 3–5% of sales. In the Gulf: a fixed EGP 30,000–60,000/month (≈ $600–1,200) + 1–3%. The percentage is set only after we know the business's profit margin — so the price is fair to both sides, not an arbitrary number.
The first question everyone asks is "how much?" The honest answer is that there's no single number that fits every business — but there is a clear model I can explain, and I'll tell you my real ranges.
The model: a fixed fee + a percentage of sales
My pricing has two parts. A fixed monthly fee that covers the work, time and management regardless of outcome; and a percentage of sales that ties my income to yours — the more your sales grow, the more I earn. Why both? A fixed fee alone turns the work into a salary; a percentage alone loads you with risk in the early months. Together they balance: I'm covered for my work, and you're assured my interest is that the business actually grows.
The numbers, honestly
In Egypt:
- Fixed fee: EGP 15,000–30,000 per month (≈ $300–600)
- Commission: 3%–5% of sales
In the Gulf:
- Fixed fee: EGP 30,000–60,000 per month (≈ $600–1,200)
- Commission: 1%–3% of sales
The Gulf commission is lower because sales volume and average order value are higher there, so a smaller percentage still returns a solid amount. It's the opposite in Egypt: a higher percentage on a smaller volume. USD figures are approximate, at ~50 EGP/USD as of August 2026.
The percentage is set after we know the margin
This is the part that matters. I don't set a random percentage — first we find out what the business's profit margin actually is, and set the percentage on that basis. Why? A fixed percentage on a thin-margin business can eat its profit; the same percentage on a high-margin business can be too cheap for me. Once we know the margin, we set a percentage that's fair to both sides.
What moves the price within the range
- Ad spend and number of platforms (Meta alone vs. Meta + TikTok + Snapchat + Google).
- Whether it's media buying only, or also store/landing-page building and CRO.
- Business stage: launching from zero vs. scaling an existing winner.
Bottom line
The right pricing isn't the cheapest number or a flat quote — it's a model that ties what you pay to the result, and is set after understanding your economics. To see the maximum you can pay per order, try the COD break-even calculator, read how to hire a media buyer, or get in touch.
