Media Buyer and Digital Marketer in Palestine: Ramallah, Nablus and Hebron
A store owner in Palestine deals with more than one currency, customers who lean towards cash, and shipping that can run late. The media buyer's job is to build the ad on that reality. Start with the price currency and the payment method
The shekel is the main cash currency, and the Jordanian dinar and the dollar also circulate, so the customer should see the price in their currency from the first screen. A study from this decade found shoppers prefer cash, especially with local sellers. On the other side, the Palestine Monetary Authority has licensed five e-payment firms since 2020, including PalPay, and Jawwal Pay says it supports online checkout. I don't have recent merchant data on the share of these methods, so I read them from your store's orders.
Facebook first, and messages are a serious option
Ad reach according to DataReportal: Facebook 2.30 million, Instagram 1.85 million, Snapchat 1.69 million and TikTok 552K. Since customers may want to ask about shipping and payment before ordering, I compare purchase ads with messages ads, counting messages sales from actual orders: sales ads or messages ads? Shipping: don't promise what you don't control
Shipping routes can cause delays, and some global platforms don't ship to Palestine. So I don't write a delivery time in the ad before confirming your courier's actual areas and timings, because every missed promise comes back as a cancelled order. Snap allows targeting under the name Palestinian Territories, and Meta and TikTok billing gets reviewed at the start.
