Media Buyer and Digital Marketer in Qatar for Doha Stores
In Qatar, cards hold the largest share at checkout, residents come from many nationalities, and demand is concentrated in Doha. Ahmed Ebrahem is a media buyer and the founder of Saduq Agency, working with Gulf stores online. I have no office in Qatar and no published client there, so my numbers below come from other Gulf markets.
Before the ad: the e-commerce license
Decision 25 of 2026 requires an e-commerce license for online and social selling, with one license per website and a commercial registry, in force since 16 March 2026, with a published fee of QR500. That's a legal matter to review with your adviser. I mention it because ads raise your store's visibility, so it's better to have this in order before increasing spend.
A checkout that suits Doha
Cards made up 38.92% of checkout volume in 2025 according to Sadad, and cash on delivery is estimated at roughly 15-25% in a commercial source. So this differs from cash-on-delivery pages: QPay, Himyan and Fawran deserve a visible spot, and gateways like Tap, PayTabs and Dibsy get reviewed for your store. Qatar Post also accepts card on delivery through a QPay terminal, a middle ground for a hesitant customer. Shopify Payments and a direct Stripe account aren't available to a business based in Qatar, so we settle the gateway with the store.
Who are you talking to?
Expats are estimated at about 85% of residents, and Arabic builds trust with nationals, according to a commercial source. So we test Arabic and English in two separate campaigns. Ad reach (DataReportal): TikTok 2.95 million, Facebook 2.40 million, Instagram 1.70 million, Snapchat 1.24 million. Selling seasons: Ramadan, the two Eids and White Friday. Channel details: Snapchat ads management.
Results from outside Qatar
- A Gulf store: $692K in 7 months with discounts at 0.64% (full case).
- A store in Kuwait: 16% less spend and a 3.73 return by redistributing the budget.
The wider comparison: best media buyer in the Gulf, and other countries are on the Arab world page. Every market has its own math, and I don't guarantee a similar result.
